Katarinagruppen is a trading partnership in Södermalm in Stockholm that builds, owns and manages housing for older people. The company was formed in 1994 by Katarinastiftelsen and Föreningen Katarinagården. The foundation was in turn established with grants from the City of Stockholm and Katarina parish.

According to the company, Katarinagruppen manages four properties in inner Stockholm. Three are in Södermalm and one in Hammarby Sjöstad. Two of the buildings are care homes for older people, where applications are made through the district administration and not to the company.

The flats we have seen are senior housing for people aged 55 and over. We have registered 9 adverts since March 2025. Over the past year there were 5, and all were one-room flats with an average rent of SEK 5,465 a month. The average floor area was 24 square metres, and all the flats were in buildings with a lift.

According to the company, the senior flats in the Monumentet block by Gotlandsgatan are let through Bostadsförmedlingen in Stockholm. That means you need to be in the Bostadsförmedlingen queue. In 40 per cent of the adverts over the past year there was an explicit queue requirement.
