HSB MälarDalarna is a cooperative housing association owned by approximately 38,000 members and just over 380 affiliated tenant-owner associations. The regional association was formed in 2019 through a merger of HSB Dalarna and HSB Mälardalen. According to the company's own figures, the organisation owns and manages between 1,200 and 1,300 of its own rental apartments, and manages approximately 1,700 apartments for external property owners.

The properties are primarily located in Borlänge, Örebro and Falun, but the landlord also has apartments in towns such as Kumla, Leksand, Västerås and Östersund. Vacant homes are applied for via the housing platform HomeQ. Allocation takes place according to a priority system where home-saving HSB members are prioritised based on their home-savings points. Apartments are then offered to other HSB members based on length of membership. If no member takes the apartment, it is offered to external applicants based on housing queue points with HomeQ. Applicants must also meet basic requirements regarding income and a passed credit check.
